Winter Slowness, Skin Repair & the Ritual of Blue Tansy
There’s a certain kind of quiet that only winter brings.
This season, I found myself leaning into it more than usual—almost like a gentle hibernation. Days felt slower, more intentional. There was less rushing, more noticing. Well as much as possible with being a mom of a six year old.
A kind of reset.
I spent time simplifying—eating lighter, occasionally fasting, moving my body in softer ways. More walks, more stretching, less intensity. I read more. Listened to music. And in between it all, those brief winter sunsets—the kind that feel like they disappear just as you start paying attention.
Most importantly, I was present. With my family, with myself.
And in that space, I started thinking about restoration—not just for the mind, but for the skin too. Kind of mind - body - gut - skin axis. I have added some links bellow with the incredible women thats supported all of that for me this beginning of 2026.
What Winter Feels Like for Skin
Winter has a quiet impact on skin.
Cold air and indoor heat leave it feeling drier, more sensitive, sometimes more reactive than usual. It’s not always dramatic—but it’s noticeable.
Skin feels like it needs more care. More softness. More support.
Less stimulation, more comfort.
Coming Back to Blue Tansy
This is where I always come back to blue tansy.
Not just because of its color—but because of how it feels on the skin.
Calming. Settling. Grounding.
It’s the kind of ingredient that doesn’t try to do too much. It simply helps the skin feel more at ease—less red, less reactive, more balanced.
And during winter, that’s often exactly what’s needed.
A Ritual That Moves With You
For me, skincare has become less about reacting—and more about supporting.
Less about doing more—and more about doing what’s needed.
Blue tansy has become part of that rhythm. Something consistent through seasonal change.
A small, daily way to bring the skin back to balance.
If Your Skin Feels Slightly Off
If your skin has been feeling:
A little more sensitive
A little more reactive
Not quite like itself
It might not need more steps.
Just something more intentional.
