#threeminutesofbeauty with the founder Dominyka

Dear All,

I really wanted to hop on here and tell you more about me, my why, talk about my mission and goals.

When I was revising my last three thousand words I wrote about what I wanted to tell you, it really stopped me in my tracks because I was focusing on all the studies in biomedicine and chemistry and perfumery courses I have done, and how I started to lead more sustainable life, and that's all really important to me to make skincare safe, therapeutic and effective, but my ‘why’ really lies much deeper than that.

Beauty in my family was always simple, beauty always was what really is in our hearts and minds. My family was really four women and one man for a while and the main focus was always well, us - family.

All I remember is that everyone in my family was really focusing on what really matters in life - it was the people, individual passions, what we eat and growing our food was a huge part of our lives. I was always a weeder, my mom and her sister the pickers, my grandma and grandpa the seeders and growers. We have spent every summer in our small garden house that my grandpa built and we would stay most days looking after all the vegetables and fruits and flowers and trees from sunrise to sunsets in summers. When I close my eyes I can still smell hay while having our strawberries on a swing next to the house. I definitely learned what it takes to grow anything from the seed and I have so much respect for all the farmers.

I guess a big part of talking about my skincare is the word ‘mindfulness' because the true passion came from really wanting to make something in my life that has integrity, meaning and shines kindness.

Sure I have been a model for 25 years and was lucky enough to work with most incredible creatives in this crazy world of fashion, but being grounded and rooted by my family always kept me wanting to not only be a canvas, but create one too.

In terms of beauty rituals in my family, the most important thing was to wash our face with water. My grandmother only had on face cream and my mom didn’t get a cream and foundation until she was in her late thirties. So innovation of simplicity has always been my roots and goals at the same time. Also being absolutely radical to taking time for yourself and whatever it means to you to self love without judgment.

Love,

Dominyka
